Market Environment
Semiconductor producers cover approximately 50-60% of the semiconductor market. Only key account customers may purchase directly from semiconductor manufacturers, i.e. those who purchase several million Euros worth of products per year from the respective semiconductor manufacturer. Depending on the manufacturer, these are no more than 100-300 companies worldwide.
Approximately 130,000 companies worldwide, from the conglomerate with significantly big electronic demand or the medium-sized company to the one-man-engineering firm - they all have to buy via contract distributors.
Internationally, the largest contract distributors are Arrow Electronics, Avnet Electronics and Future Electronics (all headquartered in North America) who cover a total of approximately 65% of the international distributor market. Several hundred medium-sized distributors and niche distributors hold the rest of the market.
There are approximately 6,000 chip brokers worldwide. A few thousand of them are small trading companies, the majority of whom are located in Asia.
Only very few chip brokers have gained a foothold as independent distributors. They offer a variety of value added services for the semiconductor-consuming industry. ce GLOBAL SOURCING AG is among the 10 largest of these independent distributors worldwide. Among the independent distributors who are headquartered in Europe, ce GLOBAL SOURCING AG is one of the top 2. Only very few independent distributors are listed on the stock market. Those, who are not listed, do not publish sales figures.
