Strategy & Goals

The company rests on a two-pillar-strategy i.e. independent distribution and e-commerce chip brokerage via the Internet (VCE).

In independent distribution the focus of our activities shifted towards procurement services for chips, i.e. we act as an international purchase organization for the European industry.

A manufacturing company processing electronics can use our procurement services to profit from the following benefits:

  • Improved purchasing prices for strategic components
  • Solutions for delivery issues especially bottleneck and obsoleted components
  • Reduction of manufacturing stocks due to VMI = Vendor Managed Inventory
  • Reduction of excess inventories due to consignment stock programs
  • Consultancy and concepts in the search for alternative producers, neutral market information, and benchmarking of bills of materials etc.

In 2006 we started to get involved in contract distribution of components and concluded a distribution contract with the US semiconductor manufacturer Simtek covering the region of Eastern Europe and special projects in Western Europe. The segment of contract distribution will be expanded in our company, above all regarding the so-called embedded area.

ce has 1000 purchasing customers worldwide, 300 of whom are based in Australia (ce Australia), 50 in the US and Asia and 650 in Europe. Thus, ce offers a clear focus on the electronics processing industry in Europe. In this region we have had very strong and long-standing customer relations. The close relations we maintain with our A clients are supported by preferred delivery agreements, quality assurance agreements, consignment stock contracts, annual framework agreements and so forth.

ce is geared to generate 80% of its sales with 50 different industrial enterprises, which maintain numerous production plants, and 20% of sales with the remaining 600 in europe. A and B clients have specified key account managers who are in charge of all the client's concerns and regularly visit the respective production sites.

The second segment i.e. Internet-based chip brokerage is covered by our e-commerce company VCE Virtual Chip Exchange. VCE is an e-commerce trading platform disposing of virtual stocks exceeding 1 billion Euros by far, with currently 7,000 member companies and 25,000 users/purchasers in 68 countries. These purchasers can use the Internet to submit inquiries to VCE, locate components, receive technical support and execute orders (www.virtualchip.com).
